Do your socks match?
I know a young adult who intentionally wears mismatched socks.
Why?
He’s training himself in humility.
He wants to learn how to handle ridicule and small humiliations — because he knows bigger ones will come.
In today’s Gospel we hear:
“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
Most of us run from humiliation.
We hide from it.
We avoid it.
But what if small moments of humility are training for sainthood?
