The Third Station: The Sacrifice of Abraham

In the Third Station of the Eucharist, we reflect on the sacrifice of Abraham in Genesis 22.

Abraham was willing to offer his only son…
but God provided a ram in his place.

This moment points forward to something greater.

Jesus—the true Lamb of God—becomes our replacement sacrifice.
He takes our place on the Cross.

The Eucharist is thanksgiving.
And when we begin to understand what Christ has done for us, our hearts are moved to gratitude.

Take time today to thank God—for His Son, for your salvation, and for the many gifts in your life.
