What if we, as Catholics, have been looking at our faith from the wrong perspective? What if our desire to fit into modern culture has led us away from truly living like Jesus?
In today’s Gospel (Luke 6:22), Jesus tells us:
“Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.”
Yet, as American Catholics, do we avoid persecution by blending in? Have we forgotten who Jesus truly is?
🔥 In this homily, Fr. Myer makes a bold claim:
Our Christian beliefs align with our Protestant brothers and sisters, but our practices—fasting, prayer, holy days, even dress codes—look more like those in Judaism and Islam. And you know what? That’s because they look like Jesus Himself.
He will back up these claims with Scripture and history—and you won’t believe the revelations that unfold.

Join Deacon Mark Schmidl as he reflects on this Sunday’s Gospel, where Jesus tells Simon Peter to cast his nets into the deep after a long, unfruitful night of fishing. In this powerful homily, Deacon Mark challenges us to examine the areas of our lives where we might be holding back from Jesus—our workplaces, friendships, finances, and even our marriages.
On this World Marriage Sunday, we celebrate the beauty and sacrifice of Christian marriage, a living symbol of Christ’s love for His Church. Are we allowing Jesus to guide our relationships, our sacrifices, and our daily choices?
Be not afraid. Let Christ into every space of your life and witness the miracles He can work!
🙏 Join us in reflecting on:
✅ How Jesus boldly steps into our lives
✅ Trusting God even when we think we know best
✅ Inviting Christ into our marriages and daily choices
✅ Living as true witnesses of faith in today’s world
