Feast of St. Lucy: Are We Raising Saints with Conviction?
Saturday Dec 13, 2025
Saturday Dec 13, 2025
Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Lucy, a young martyr whose name means light and whose witness still challenges the Church.
St. Lucy was only 13 years old when she gave her life for Christ. Her courage invites us to reflect on how we are forming faith in the next generation — especially our children and grandchildren.
In this reflection, Father Jonathan asks a challenging but important question:Are we raising children with a faith strong enough to endure difficulty, sacrifice, and real conviction?
This isn’t about fear or suffering — it’s about forming hearts that truly know Jesus, love Him deeply, and are willing to follow Him with trust and joy.
May the light of St. Lucy inspire parents, godparents, educators, and all of us to model a faith that is real, lived, and rooted in Christ.

Peace on Earth - Day 14: Do You Recognize Jesus? | Feast of St. Lucy
Saturday Dec 13, 2025
Saturday Dec 13, 2025
Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Lucy, a saint whose name means light — and today’s Gospel invites us to ask a powerful Advent question:
Do you recognize Jesus when He is right in front of you?
In this reflection, Father Jonathan connects the beautiful traditions of St. Lucy with the Gospel theme of sight and recognition. Just as the disciples on the road to Emmaus failed to recognize Jesus until the breaking of the bread, we are invited to reflect on where — and how — we see Christ today.
In this video, we’re invited to consider:• Do we recognize Jesus in the Eucharist?• Do we recognize Him in Adoration?• Do we recognize Him in the people we encounter each day — even the difficult ones?• And do we trust that Jesus recognizes us, even when others don’t?
This Advent reflection reminds us that Christ is alive — in the Mass, in the Eucharist, in our neighbor, and in you. And even when we feel unseen or unrecognized, Jesus knows us, sees us, and loves us.
As we continue this Advent journey, let us pray for the grace to recognize truth, goodness, and beauty — and to become the saints God is calling us to be.
🎄 Peace on Earth is a daily Advent reflection series to help prepare our hearts for Christmas.

Peace on Earth – Day 13: Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Triumph of Life
Friday Dec 12, 2025
Friday Dec 12, 2025
On this thirteenth day of Peace on Earth, Father Jonathan reflects on Our Lady of Guadalupe and the profound impact of her appearance to St. Juan Diego in 1531.
Mary came as a loving mother to a wounded culture, bringing dignity to women, protecting the unborn, and leading millions to Jesus Christ. Her image — miraculously imprinted on Juan Diego’s tilma — remains a powerful sign that God enters human history to defend life and restore hope.
Today’s reflection invites us to pause and pray with gratitude:“Dear Lord, thank You for life.”
As we honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, may we ask her to intercede for our families, our communities, and our world — that peace may begin in every heart.

Peace on Earth – Day 12: Will There Ever Be Peace on Earth?
Thursday Dec 11, 2025
Thursday Dec 11, 2025
In today’s Peace on Earth reflection, Father Jonathan Meyer looks honestly at the violence, division, and hurt we see in our world — in schools, churches, politics, and even our families — and he asks the hard question:
“Will there ever be peace on earth?”
His answer is both simple and challenging:Peace begins with you and me.
Father Jonathan reminds us that every act of violence comes from forgetting the dignity of the person in front of us. And every act of genuine love restores peace — even something as small as looking someone in the eye, greeting them by name, or offering a blessing at the checkout line.
Today’s invitation:Choose peace. Choose joy. Choose to love the person right in front of you. That’s how the world changes — one encounter at a time.
💛 Want to help bring peace into the world? Start by recognizing the image of God in every person you meet today.

The Most Misunderstood Catholic Teaching — Explained Beautifully 12.8.25

Happy Feast of the Immaculate Conception!
In this powerful teaching homily, Father Jonathan walks us through the mystery behind the words the angel Gabriel spoke to Mary: “Hail, full of grace.” (Luke 1:28)
This phrase appears only once in the entire Bible — and it reveals who Mary is from the very moment of her conception:
a dwelling worthy of Christ, overflowing with grace, and redeemed by the future sacrifice of Jesus Himself.
Father explains:
• Why Mary had to be free from sin
• How Jesus’ death on the cross was applied to Mary 47 years before it happened
• Why the Mass is the same saving sacrifice of Calvary
• How prevenient grace works
• How the Immaculate Conception is completely connected to the Cross
• Why there is no Jesus without Mary — and no Mary without the Cross
This homily beautifully reveals the depth of our Catholic faith — a faith where God acts inside and outside of time, applying His saving grace across centuries for the salvation of all.
Father also shares a touching reminder:
Four years ago on this feast, the names of our parishioners were placed inside a locket around Our Lady’s neck — consecrating our entire parish to her Immaculate Heart.
May she continue to intercede for us, guide us, and lead us closer to her Son.

Peace on Earth Day 11: What Suffering Can You Offer to God Today?
Wednesday Dec 10, 2025
Wednesday Dec 10, 2025
Peace on Earth — Day 11Today’s Gospel is one of the most comforting passages in all of Scripture:“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28–30)
Father Jonathan shares how this verse is prayed during the Anointing of the Sick and reflects on the deep truth it reveals:Suffering is real… but it is never wasted when given to God.
Whether your “labor” is:• A chronic illness• Depression or anxiety• Addiction• A strained marriage• A child who has lost their way• Grief, stress, or loneliness
Jesus sees it — and He invites you to bring it to Him.
Inspired by Fr. Hollowell’s witness, Father Jonathan reminds us that offering our sufferings to God becomes a powerful intercession:“Lord, I offer You my struggles today for the salvation of souls, for my family, for healing.”
And we are also challenged to ask:Who do I know that is sick, suffering, or carrying a heavy burden?A simple call, visit, or card can become the rest that someone desperately needs.
As we continue through Advent, may we place our burdens at the feet of Jesus… and allow Him to give us the rest our hearts long for.

Peace on Earth - Day 10: You Are Not Alone
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Tuesday Dec 09, 2025
Have you ever felt alone, unseen, or unheard? Today’s Gospel (Matthew 18:12–14) reminds us that Jesus is the Good Shepherd who goes searching for the one who feels lost.
Father Jonathan offers a powerful message for anyone struggling with loneliness, isolation, or spiritual discouragement:You are not alone. Jesus is looking for you.In the silence, in prayer, in the Rosary, in Adoration — He is calling your name.
But the Good Shepherd doesn’t drag the lost sheep back. At some point, we must stop, turn around, and say:“Jesus, here I am. Find me.”
We were not created to live isolated. God gave us the Church, community, and one another so we would never walk alone.
Today’s invitation:Where in your life do you feel alone? Will you allow Jesus to find you there?
You are worth it.You are loved. You are a child of God.And you do not have to face life by yourself.Let yourself be found — and discover peace.

Peace on Earth -Day 9: A New Way to Pray the Rosary
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Happy Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception!Today’s Peace on Earth reflection invites us to enter the mystery of the Annunciation through Visio Divina—praying with sacred images.
Father Jonathan explains why the angel Gabriel’s greeting, “Hail, full of grace,” reveals Mary as the Immaculate Conception, conceived without original sin so she could become the living tabernacle for Christ.
Then he shares a powerful way to deepen your prayer life:👉 Use sacred art to meditate on each mystery of the Rosary.By looking at different artistic depictions of the Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, and beyond, we allow God to speak through beauty, symbolism, and imagination.
Today’s questions:• What image comes to your mind when you think of the Annunciation?• How might sacred art help you enter more deeply into prayer?
This Advent, consider filling your home with sacred images—on your walls, in books, or even Christmas cards—and let beauty draw you closer to Christ.

Peace on Earth - Day 8: The One Thing Blocking Your Peace
Sunday Dec 07, 2025
Sunday Dec 07, 2025
Welcome to Day 8 of our Peace on Earth Advent series!
Today’s Gospel brings us John the Baptist, crying out in the wilderness with a message that is as urgent today as it was 2,000 years ago:
👉 Repent. Acknowledge your sins. Prepare the way for the Lord.
Father Jonathan reminds us that people didn’t just listen to John —
they responded. They went out, named their sins, and let God transform their hearts.
And that’s the invitation for us on Day 8.
What sin is blocking your peace?
Where have you refused to surrender something to God?
Will you go to confession this Advent?
Confession isn’t about shame — it’s about freedom, healing, and becoming the person God created you to be.
Jesus Himself gave us the sacrament so we could live with joy, clarity, and peace.
Today’s reflection invites you to:
• Look honestly at what needs healing
• Stop making excuses for delay
• Say “yes” to grace now, not later
• Prepare your heart for Christ with sincerity and courage
“Go to confession. Go to confession. Go to confession.”
Not someday — this Advent.
May the Lord give you courage and peace as you enter Week 2 of Advent.
